Enhanced order consolidation/fulfillment solution for Finnish book distributor

Swiss company Ferag AG equipped Finnish book wholesaler Kirjavälitys Oy with conveyor technology designed to optimise order fulfilment. Its centrepiece is a Denisort loop 370 metres long, with tilting trays for conveying and sorting variously sized books. Ferag is also supplying custom-designed trolleys with mechanisms for discharging entire stacks of books, and fully automatic infeed stations leading up to the Denisort line that will run three metres overhead. Complementing those elements is a 50 metre long Deniway loop for transporting boxes packed with books to the shipping area. This is the first Denisort system to be deployed for book picking, its advantages being that it can process up to 7,200 books per hour while enabling more than 20 batches to be picked simultaneously.
