Fnac relies on intralogistics expertise from Ferag

24.03.2023.

Following an initial, successfully completed project in Madrid, Spain, Ferag and Fnac Darty have confirmed their collaboration and signed a further project agreement. The European market leader for the distribution of entertainment products (mainly books, sound recordings and consumer electronics, as well as household electrical appliances) will implement its new, fully integrated omni-channel distribution center in Lisbon, Portugal, with Ferag. The project is set to start in April 2023, with commissioning as early as September 2023 - a tight schedule given the global challenges in terms of delivery times.

As a system integrator, consultant and innovator in the field of intralogistics, Ferag plans, controls and coordinates the overall warehouse logistics system in Portugal. But close, personal partnership at eye level is also characteristic of the corporate philosophy of the Swiss family-owned company: for example, Ferag is working hand in hand on the Fnac project with TGW, Modumaq and Sealed Air, among others, as important partners for the realization of the overall system. "Thanks to Ferag's worldwide network, the close, lived cooperation with its partners and the corresponding fast, flexible responsiveness in all project phases, Ferag was able to convince us already in the bidding phase," says Tiago Figueirôa, Supply Chain Manager at Fnac Portugal.

The trusting cooperation and partnership with the customer as well as the convincing competence as general contractor were decisive for the Fnac decision: From the initially stand-alone ferag.denisort system in Madrid to the fully integrated intralogistic overall solution in Portugal. The STINGRAY shuttle system from TGW, the conveyor system from Interroll and Modumaq or the fully automated I-Pack® packaging system from Sealed Air are just a few state-of-the-art technologies that significantly increase efficiency and performance in the new Fnac distribution center.

With this further project, the Swiss family-owned company Ferag once again confirms its competence as a system integrator and continues to position itself as one of the intralogistics key players.
